Product Review of Renaissance Accelerated Math

Renaissance Accelerated Math® supplies deep mathematical practice to meet learners’ need to move from foundational skills to grade-level standards. The app helps to progressively build learners’ confidence by exposing them to mathematical discourse in the classroom, thereby enhancing their math experience.

What Users Love About the App
“I loved the way students always had an assignment to do anytime they finished something in class. I loved the continued spiraling review of all the mastered objectives. I loved my students competing against one another to master the most objectives.”
“Accelerated Math has allowed for me to individualize my instruction and interventions. I love this program. Truly! I have three types of students; above, on target, and below. This program allows for growth in each area.”
“This program is masked as a whole-group classroom approach, however, the most important components are found under the mask. One-on-one instruction is how I describe it to educators. My students are actively engaged in their own learning. They are also actively engaged in the learning of their peers, as well.”
“Accel Math has assisted my math classrooms with tremendous gains. My test scores have gone up significantly. My students have a greater sense of accomplishment since they have been given the “driver’s seat” for their own learning. This makes my heart smile!”
“AM allows teachers to individually assign math practices to every student based on their needs. AM is supported by STAR assessments, which give teachers their students’ areas of weakness.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“The only thing I dislike is the fact that Renaissance did away with it and replaced it with Freckle- which is a joke compare to Accelerated Math.”
“Some of the practice strands are too hard in the beginning for struggling students. Student math practices are outdated and boring for students.”
“On-line practices need to be able to be re-scored by the teacher. Add more to the Accel Reader like the math has. Accel Reader is limited as [far as] using for daily teaching.”
“It’s way too labor-intensive for the teacher. If students don’t know how to do the problem, there is no instruction or support for them.”
“Does have a learning curve for new users. Relies on technology, which might not always be available.”
