Product Review of Race to Ratify

Race to Ratify is a game with a civics theme. In the game, the US constitution has recently been signed and is ready to be ratified by the states. Students play as pamphleteers who travel to the 13 states to hear the public’s opinions about whether to accept the document. The game takes learners through the federalist and anti-federalist process of ratifying the US Constitution.

What Users Love About the App
“I love it! This is a very interesting premise. I hope that you can continue to make games like these, where you interact in a certain period of time in American history.”
“You should get this game. It’s drawing style is great and it is honestly very satisfying, especially the part where all those papers fall to the ground. Get this game.”
“A very fun and fair game. I played as a federalist and won, on my first game! Extremely easy and fun, and might teach you something!”
“I really enjoyed this game and think that it’s a great way to tell history and even change it if you so please.”
“A sensational opportunity to learn the past. Would like ICIVICS developing an imperialist game of taking control of ‘created countries’ and their resources to build one’s own country!”
What Users Dislike About the App
“It has potential but the game needs to be balanced. why does your opponent guy get to release a pamphlet after every turn?”
“Ok but too simple and it forces you to pick the historical side you can’t change history and stop the constitution from being written.”
“When I play as the Federalist, the anti-federalist won. But when I played as the Anti-federalist, the federalist won. There should be an update on the balance.”
“I could literally go to sleep playing this game it’s such a boring game it needs to be more engaging.”
“I tried to login in to my I civics account in my I pad but every time I tried it did not work.”
