Product Review of Padlet

Padlet is an excellent tool to use when learners work together in the classroom. It acts as an online whiteboard for the aggregation of ideas, images, videos, and other articles. It has a problem-based learning system that allows learners to post research questions and work toward the answer through their combined work.

What Users Love About the App
“I like how easy and functional it is. Great for students, teachers, office workers, etc. You can fit everyone’s ideas and reports in one “folder.”
“The main benefit is that students can work on the padlet live during class, and it updates automatically. Students can give each other feedback, as well as post answers to questions the teacher wants input on.”
“I work with kids with dyslexia. Organization of information is crucial to my kids. And Padlet helps them to organize information on a single canvas that my students can access.”
“I use Padlet mainly for Reading Comprehension exercises with my secondary students. Answers can be given in any form – written, audio/video clip – which helps my kids with SpLD to give their answers precisely without worrying much about writing down the answers. And during covid 19 Padlet is so useful as it helped me a lot on online real-time collaboration with my kids.”
“The best features are company-specific branding, reports and portfolios and Google Apps integration which makes Padlets suitable for enterprise use as well as in an educational setting.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“I wish they offered more free padlets. Unless you upgrade, you have to delete previous ones to make room for new ones. This makes it harder if you want to use one from year to year.”
“The pricing plan. Only 3 Padlet are allowed in the free plan. if you need to create the 4th one needs to get rid of one of the 3 Padlets at hand. For an educator, losing a Padlet is disastrous. Not all educators, afford the price plan. If their schools are not funding them they will not be able to afford Palet.”
“Secure padlets are not easily integrated with other enterprise tools other than GSuite and shared over an intranet or other corporate networks.”
“Padelt is very basic to use–almost too basic. I wish there were a few more bells and whistles to customize your board.”
“It is frustrating that students can keep adding pages to the Padlet that everyone is working on. It is also too expensive for a lot of teachers I know.”
