Product Review of Othot
Othot is an advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence platform used in higher education institutions. Othot focuses on each institution’s specific enrollment, student success and advancement goals, and then applies an advanced analytics software solution leveraging AI to develop real-time intelligence to meet those goals. The difference is that Othot starts first with the questions — which they call High Impact Questions (™) — and then builds a unique predictive and prescriptive model to give institutions actionable information. Othot integrates existing institutional data with external data sources. The platform then produces “likelihood to occur” scores so that institutions can make more informed decisions by running what-if scenarios.
Othot’s predictive modeling software transforms data into helpful insights that can be used to drive enrollment, financial aid, and student success strategies. Through simple interactions, the platform shows who is most likely to enroll and to persist and where to focus resources for the greatest impact. Predictions for every prospect are delivered in real-time and updated throughout the entire lifecycle, so universities know exactly which students to target and how best to reach them. Othot recently released a new Student Success Platform providing an analytics solution to student success directors and institutional research analysts. The powerful analytical capabilities identify students at risk of “stopping out,” allowing institutions to provide those students with prescriptive supports that will keep them enrolled and on track to complete their college education.
What Users Love About the App
“Amazing time! My tutor was really nice and they helped me learn a lot. I recommend it with five stars.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“I’m a student that uses this website. Based on my experience with the teachers, for the most part, they are decent. Sometimes, when I already know the concept of a subject, they’ll explain it anyways. I’ll ask some questions and they’ll avoid them by explaining the lesson plans longer. Or, they are slow to answer them. I will tell them something and when I am done it seems as if they expect me to say something else before ignoring me! In addition, the policies are terrible! Because the tool bars are exempt to certain systems, the tutors are unable to help me with school work. My time gets wasted. But, I do see potential in this program and understand where the tutors are coming from.”
“They have the worst customer service. I’ve asked numerous times to change a phone number and every time I’m told it will be done, but it never gets done. This has been a never ending issue since the beginning. This service was recommended by my daughter’s teacher and I guess my expectations were too high. I will go back to hiring a tutor.”
“Our first session was awful. The tutor did not answer any of my daughter’s questions. The tutor argued with my daughter that her test would have multiple choice and wouldn’t explain to her how he came up with his answers so that she could understand. She had to give him the answers because he did the problem wrong. She finally just gave up and said “okay” to everything. She left the session understanding less than when she started. It was so awful, she absolutely does not want to go back. I called the number to try and reach someone but the mailbox was full and no one answered. Horrible, horrible service.”
