What Users Love About the App
“Noteflight is the best web-based music composition software. It is easy to learn how to use the features to compose your first song or arrange a song. The menus provide explanations for those just learning. Playback is an excellent way to hear what is being written before the final product is completed.”
“Noteflight stores all of your scores in the cloud, so you can access scores from wherever you need. It has an easy interface (easier than Finale) and it doesn’t take long to learn the ins and outs of the software. My husband marvels at how fast I’m able to input music into Noteflight.”
“There’s a lot you can do with a free account. Makes composing and transcribing fun and easy! I love that it plays each note as you record it and you can play the whole thing back at any point. Perfect for my needs.”
“This software is one of the first I used for music writing. What I love about it is that you can use it ANYTIME and ANYWHERE, because all the scores are uploaded to the cloud. All my previous composition is still listed under my profile and it’s a great way to keep track of my progress.”

What Users Dislike About the App
“The menus are in the way of the composition. They used to be above the composition. I also dislike the way the notes and rests are added manually. It took me some time to figure out the best way to accomplish this before using the keyboard.”
“The web page navigation is very confusing. The user may get confused on where to go, what to do, although some places have labels, they are not really helpful.”
“One of my major gripes with Noteflight is that the playback doesn’t always play back articulations, slurs and ties the way that they should be. The main reason I use Noteflight is to test out rhythms and music, and to put in slurs and ties, accents and the like to see what they would sound like at performance level.”
“Sometimes it’s hard to navigate the software because there are so many different functions. Also, if I remember correctly you can only have 10 scores saved, and you have to start deleting them if you want to do more, which is frustrating because sometimes you have many projects that you start and plan on finishing but can’t.”
“It don’t have as many features as fruity loops unless you get premium but it’s a overall good product I would suggest it but it’s not what I expected everything I expected I should say it was hyped up more than it is fruity loops is just as good if not better.”
