Product Review of Next Lesson Marketplace

Next Lesson is a platform created to implement and manage modern projects with the mission of building a better tomorrow by finding an answer to the lingering question, “How can we unleash projects learners love?” NextLesson is built on the foundation that learners learn using activities and contextual lessons; the platform incorporates an awareness of the challenges facing learners and educators with the new Common Core standards. Activities available on the platform have been tested in classroom settings and include materials (video, worksheets, websites, references to apps) and comprehensive educator guides where necessary. Materials are accessible from any device, any time you want.

What Users Love About the App
“The ability to use the performance task on topics that my students are engaged in and the fact that they are working with real data is appealing. I strive to provide my students with real life references to the work they are doing in class. This product allows me to do this at their interest level.”
“I can see that this program provides students with the opportunity to take a favorite book/author and them apply a real- world situation that they would solve. It provides them with a look at the education that would be required to enter the career of their dreams. This would be an informal goal setting tool.”
“This program provides students with high interest reading resources and engages students in learning real-world connections with math. It provides students with the opportunity to explore careers that might be of interest to them and provides students with a look at what type of education that would be needed to be successful in that career.”
“I like the way this product helps you reach out to the real world to motivate student interest as well as transfer an idea or concepts that seem abstract To students and turn them into more tangible real world scenarios.”
“I would use this tool in my everyday classroom teaching. This tool is a great way for teachers to incorporate project based learning and give us more freedom to incorporate additional lessons.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“Currently many of the products require printing them out. I would prefer the option of having students working on the computer and being able to print out.”
“It would be great if the tool was free so that teachers could use it and test to see if they like it. Another improvement is an interactive face where students can collaborate with one another online versus it just being paper Paper.”
“It is hard as a high school teacher to pick a subscription when I teach all topics and often at lower levels as well.”
“I would make it easier to figure out pricing. It was unclear how the pricing works from the rep. I would ensure that students can be part of a classroom to take advantage of the hands on activities and have it graded in some way.”
“There should be a way to connect all the lesson disciplines with one unit. For example the sales and tales lesson could benefit social studies as well as mathematic and English language arts”
