Lightbot: Programming Puzzles is an introductory coding game for all kids. While learning loops and conditionals, kids will be operating with lights, commands, and logic. Computer coding can be hard for adults let alone kids, but Lightbot will surely benefit any kid’s learning in a highly positive way. What Users Love About the App
“Great game in every aspect This game has it all! The concept is straightforward and easy to understand, yet the puzzles can be challenging even for grownups. It does a great job at introducing coding concepts without becoming to code oriented.”
“This focuses on problem solving and pattern matching. So if you like something like Soduku, this will probably appeal to you. My 2 kids, wife, and I spent hours last night going through the various exercises, understanding the process a programmer uses to write a computer program and then refactoring. It was nice to share my joy of computers with them.”
“This app is great for students or people who are beginning to learn programming. I love the way it teaches, and I hope people will branch off from this to other coding programs. No bugs or crashes.”
“I was curious how programming concepts would be made kid friendly and kid accessible. I am astounded, they did such a good job. My 8 year old is picking it up amazingly quickly and is eager to do more, the mark of a good “game” which is quietly teaching. I am SO grateful for this enrichment for my son!”
“Very well done app. My kids (4 and 6 yrs old) love it. It’s challenging, but fun, and keeps them engaged. As a programmer, I see some good skills being learned. Well done!”
What Users Dislike About the App
“This game is way too easy and there are not enough levels. Waste of money.”
“It’s a great concept but the lack of an undo button is driving me nuts and the art style is a bit lacking.”
“I got the trial version of this game and it was really fun and challenging. Then when I got the full version it crashed every time I tapped something. I really REALLY loved this game but now I can’t.”
“Needs more levels to be a useful teaching tool. The intermediate is where the learning happens, but there were at most only 10 intermediate levels in all, each taking five minutes: so less than an hour of really useful learning for the whole app.”
“The game could be great, but it is very frustrating without hints. Googling doesn’t help either since the only walkthrough I find seems to have some different puzzles.”
