Product Review of Graspable Math

This is a browser-based platform designed to move solving algebra equations away from pen and paper. It uses a few easy-to-learn gestures, together with its simple interface to teach math to kids. Graspable Math seems to work best on the Chrome browser and can be used without signing into an account though it requires a Google login to save, load, and collaborate with peers and educators.

What Users Love About the App
“Students get to grab on to equations and move (and shake) them around. Manipulating equations in this way is more engaging than with traditional pen and paper.”
“Students can explore equations step by step to understand the importance of order and how different methods may produce different answers. Significant teacher input is required for content and corrections.”
“There are a number of premade worksheets to start. The associated game is also a helpful tutorial on how to manipulate the equations.”
