What Users Love About the App
“I like the automatic nature of the platform in that it’s tethered to the start and end time of a class. There is nothing needed for turning it on or off.”
“Well-thought-out SaaS platform for higher education, it is designed for it. There is the use of sprints with updated and are very receptive to product features. Excellent support services. Very stable platform.”
“It allows professors to record lectures for students to watch later.”
“I like how easy it is to access their online content. I also like that you can adjust the playback speed because not all presenters deliver content at the same speeds.”
“Echo automates the recording and delivery process. The dashboards are easy to use, and their LTIs work well.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“It doesn’t easily allow the user to download videos. The forward and backward buttons are somewhat not accurate. You need to click on the screen then move arrows to go to the desired time.”
“It’s very hard to edit the material carefully once the recording has been generated. At least not without removing large portions of it.”
“It doesn’t cancel out background noise, so you can hear students rustling around.”
“The problem is that lecture recording does not have a way to alert the speaker if their microphone is not being picked up. Without audio, the recording is useless. Additionally, there are very limited editing options once a decent recording is loaded.”
“The app randomly doesn’t record audio; you can’t rely on it, so it’s problematic. There needs to be a verifying mechanism to show when audio is recorded.”
