Product Review of DragonBox Elements – Geometry

This is a puzzle-based game designed to teach geometry. The game is designed such that users’ activities are aimed at defeating a monster plaguing a tower. The game is divided into seven chapters featuring a series of challenging puzzles at each level; as kids solve the puzzles, they progress in the game and learn geometric concepts at the same time.

What Users Love About the App
“Very fun game for kids and a very sneaky way to learn geometry. I loved geometry in school but my son was quickly surpassing me in this game. I’m not sure he could explain the principles to me, but he knows that he needs the triangle to have two equal angles to make two equal sides.”
“This is the best children’s app I have ever seen. Not only does it teach mathematical concepts in a fun way, it teaches how to construct objects and form proofs in a fun way. If your kid loves gaining “new powers” and taking on “tough enemies and bosses”, your kid will love this app.”
“I loved this game. Played through it in a couple of days. My 6 year old daughter loves it too. As a math teacher I love that It helps build the foundations for geometry.”
“My daughters (7 & 10) liked this game and the algebra versions. My girls liked how you grew a little monster with the algebra version. It kept them coming back.”
“This is an ingenious game for teaching kids basic Euclidean geometric principles without getting in to the formal axiom-proof methods of a middle school geometry class. The tale of the tape is my 5-year-old found it engaging and entertaining.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“My 6yo loved both the DragonBox algebra games. I feel that this one went so far towards trying to make it intuitive and without words that even an adult who knows all the geometry rules couldn’t figure out what to click on.”
“We love the algebra dragon box games, so we had high expectations for this one. We can’t figure it out though. It’s not as intuitive and user friendly.”
“I bought this as I already have DragonBox algebra which is great. Got so far and encountered a glitch. The problem is that you have to clear each item to progress and therefore I was unable to use the program beyond that point which was disappointing.”
“We bought it & my 8yr old & I played a few levels, and there are only so many triangle levels that you can do before you are totally annoyed and bored and wish it did something else.”
“My kids are confused by this “game” and what they are supposed to accomplish. The reviews for it looked good, so I thought I would give it a shot. I am hoping they do not give up on it too quickly and we can learn to love it.”
