What Users Love About the App
“We love that we can use the question database by creating our categories and questions, which gives us great flexibility in the topics we want to use. The results are clear, and we use them to analyze the level of knowledge within our company. From there on, we know where we can focus our attention in our education program. Creating the questions is very easy. Also, tests can be selected manually or by using random questions to the goal that we see fit.”
“We needed to create a temporary homegrown placement tool while we were remote and Class Marker had an easy-to-use template to create our exam. You can add a grading system to it as well, which later provides a report for students. The pricing for the product is very reasonable.”
“The ability to easily build tests (in different formats: multiple-choice, essay, etc.) along with the ability to randomize questions is great. Great customer support as well, they get to you quickly.”
“There are several things I like about Class Marker. 1) Service and response times. I had a few technical questions when I started working with Class Marker and I came across some unclear translations in the interface (we use the Dutch-language version). Our questions were answered, and the wording was changed in a matter of hours. 2) System features. No system can be everything to every user, but Class Marker is built well and clearly thought through.”
“Extremely intuitive setup. It has allowed me, in a very short time, to set up a large bank of questions by category from which tests have been constructed to pull random questions from each category. Furthermore, I’ve been able to make differentiated tests for accommodations rather easily. Reporting from tests has proved beneficial for both future planning and remediation.”
“The testing platform has a great diversity of question types including the ability to use videos and pictures, multiple-choice and matching. I like the ability to send links to customers. The test appearance and ability to use your own logo artwork is also great. Also, and this is very important, the customer service and support were very professional. Our company needs were a little different than what Class Marker was intended for, but they are always on the top of our list.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“The only thing I found about ClassMarker that I didn’t like is that the API doesn’t have a “last update date/time” API field, which makes things complicated when you have different types of tests (automatically graded, manually graded, updates). I’ve asked for it but it’s low on their priority list.”
“The group testing option is less flexible than the tests by a link when it comes to all the possible features that ClassMarker has to offer. This has its reasons, as we found out via ClassMarker Support, but it is something to keep in mind about the looks of your test.”
“This site tricks people into signing up to have a “free” account for unlimited use. You work on your tests for two weeks, but then they require you to pay because your trial period (which you had no idea even existed) is finished. Isn’t this cheating? Also, what is there to pay for? It has a basic design, complicated editing, and the need to spend hours trying to figure out how to fix simple things because they aren’t described in the help section. If you want all the above, then go ahead and pay for it.”
“The user interface can be simplified a little to allow new users to get used to the platform more quickly. A lot of the unnecessary information can be cut down from the main page.”
“Getting the results out via email has proved to be difficult. You can print them out, but the email function seems to not always work. They haven’t solved this issue yet.”
