What Users Love About the App
“I am really enjoying learning German on Busuu. The grammar lessons are crafted very nicely and the tips help me remember the concepts. The review feature helps to revise and remember the vocabulary. I also like that others can review my exercises and provide feedback. I learned a lot from these. These exercises also give you an option to improve both writing and speaking skills and are a great way of getting instant feedback from native speakers. The dialog exercises are also a great way to learn how the conversations are made.”
“I really like the fact that the lessons are short, you can take your time. I also really like that you are able to discuss with native speakers! That’s the major asset of Busuu!”
“I love the community correction part, as well as the deep explanations of verb tenses. I feel like I really have mastered something before moving on.”
“I like it a lot because with it you can learn different languages, both the written and auditory parts to get used to hearing the new language. Also, the part it has to ask questions is very good.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“You don’t get to choose in which language you get your language certificates on in Premium. For example, I got my English license printed in Turkish, which is useless for me. And no matter what I do, I can’t get it in English. This option should be a MUST.”
“I wish there was also a feature to practice the learned concepts more, something like worksheets, where we can work on multiple examples of a particular concept to get more command on the topics. More practice exercises for correct sentence structures/translating exercises from a different language might help in gaining more confidence while learning a new language. It would also be great to include English translations for the dialog sections. Since most of the words learned are not part of the lessons learned previously, it saves time by not using external pages like Google Translate every time.”
“The only thing that I miss in the app is the possibility of restarting my lessons from a specific point after I finish every single lesson available. I’m not sure if that’s a bug or intended behavior, but ever since I finished every lesson from my German course, the app won’t keep track of the most recent lesson I’ve re-taken. What I intend to do is re-take the lessons from a point where I think necessary and re-finish the course from that point to the end again (and as many times as necessary).”
“The courses it offered don’t help you learn a language beyond the basics. So, if you’re at an intermediate level in a language, I think this software won’t add much to your knowledge. It has a limited number of languages, and some languages don’t have a level estimation test like Turkish does.”
