Product Review of Build and Play 3D

If your kids are fans of Bob the Builder or Lightning McQueen, this game may help to bolster their creativity. They learn to build various types of automotive devices in 3-D; the game is suitable for kids between the ages of 3 and 5. Model assembly is made easier for your young ones by the clicking sound the parts make when they are fitted into the right place. Well assembled models come to life, and this encourages them to do more.
What Users Love About the App
“Engages my three-year-old for long periods of time. Provides just enough challenge without frustration. Love it.”
“What a joy this app is! Build and Play 3D gives little builders a chance to construct 8 different vehicles and a robot. All pieces are snapped into place, and the vehicles automatically rotate depending on where the piece should fit. You do need to get the pieces close to where they need to be. Although this may be difficult for some kids, it does promote good attention and fine motor skills. You can also rotate them in space, gaining unique 3D viewing. Once your toy is constructed, you are rewarded with an animation of your vehicle in action. There are no IAP, ads, or links in this app, and once learned, kids could play independently. This app has so many opportunities for learning.”
“Our son likes it. I like that he gets to practice putting things together without actually breaking things or losing pieces or leaving small pieces to be swallowed by his little brother. I would like the little games that they can play with the toys to be more interactive. Some of them have a few buttons that can be played with. Others are much more simple and seem to be a little more boring. Overall though, I would give it five stars for now. My boys only played with it for one day so far though.”
“I don’t take the time to write a review unless an app is really amazing or really bad. This app is simply outstanding. My 3-year-old grandson absolutely loves this app. I could go on and on about all he is learning and how focused he is—which is true—but he simply enjoys it. I have purchased all these developer’s apps that are age-appropriate for my kid and it is money well spent. Seeing the joy on his face is priceless.”
“My 18–month–old loves putting the puzzles together. It is great for developing hand/eye coordination and understanding parts of a whole. After about a month of working on the puzzles with him, he does them himself. Looks great, and plays great. Looking forward to future versions.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“I was taken by the rave reviews, but really, this app is not much different from other puzzle apps available here. Sure, once the puzzle is complete the item can be made to move or make a noise, but it’s low-level entertainment. Maybe it’s great for kids younger than three years old. It is not worth the money for just one afternoon’s entertainment, compared to what else is available. I do like that there are no in-app purchases, though.”
“This has the potential to be a really awesome app. Our 2-year-old loves to build the items and play with them. However, he gets frustrated when he plays with them. He is frustrated for a few reasons. 1) Each vehicle operates in a different way; for some, you just tap the arrow and with others, you hold your finger on the arrow for it to go. 2) He wants them to do more. 3) He has a hard time building them, so maybe the margin of error could be enlarged? All in all, he really likes this app, and I can already see some improvements were made in the last update. Keep improving and you’ll have an amazing app!”
“I want my $2 back, now! This is NOT “build and play” but “build and watch” instead. Once you construct the objects (which is a nice, interactive experience), you can’t do ANYTHING with them. You just watch an animation. Terribly disappointing for me, let alone my kids. It would be easy to add this sort of interaction with the finished objects. Why in the world would the developer stop short of making a good app?”
“The building aspect is easy and accessible. However, it doesn’t seem like you get to play with it afterward. You just watch the animation.”
“This is nothing but playing with blocks! I hoped it would teach colors and shapes but there is no sound, no words acknowledging what the player has just done. NOTHING! Don’t waste your money. I’d return it if I could!”
