1. Log in to your Blogger account: Go to the Blogger homepage (www.blogger.com), enter your Google email address and password, and sign in.

2. Navigate to the dashboard: After logging in, you’ll see your Blogger dashboard, displaying the blogs associated with your account.

3. Select a blog: Click on the blog title where you want to add a widget.

4. Open the layout page: On the left sidebar, click on “Layout.” This will open the Layout page showing the various sections of your blog template.

5. Choose a section: On the layout page, you’ll see different sections or areas where you can add widgets. These include headers, footers, sidebars, and more. Choose a section where you’d like to place your new widget.

6. Click “Add a Gadget”: In your chosen section, click on “Add a Gadget.” A pop-up window will appear containing various gadgets or widgets that Blogger offers.

7. Explore available widgets: Browse through the list of available widgets and find one that meets your needs. Options include social media sharing buttons, blog archives, profile information, and more.

8. Preview a widget: To see how a widget will look on your blog before adding it, click “Preview” next to its name in the pop-up window. This will open a new browser tab displaying your blog with the widget added temporarily for preview purposes.

9. Customize the widget settings: Once you’ve found a suitable widget, click on its “+” icon or “Add” button to open its settings page. Here you can customize settings like its title, display settings, colors, and styles according to your preferences.

10. Save your settings: After configuring the widget options as desired, click “Save” at the bottom of the settings page to save these changes.

11. Arrange widget position: Back on the Layout page, you can drag and drop your newly added widget to the desired location within its section. You can also rearrange the position of existing widgets in the same manner.

12. Save your Layout changes: Once you’ve placed the widget in its desired location, click “Save Arrangement” at the top right corner of the Layout page.

13. Visit your blog: Open a new browser tab and navigate to your blog’s address to see your new widget in action. If everything looks as expected, congratulations—you’ve successfully added a widget to your Blogger blog!

With these 13 steps, you can easily add widgets to any Blogger site, allowing you to customize and enhance your blog’s appearance and functionality.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
